Design of Tactile Wearable Communication Aids for Deaf-Blind

This project aims at designing tactile wearable communication aids for the deaf blind. We worked with the Singapore Association for the Deaf to work with Deaf-Blind people. The vibro-tactile technology based wearable glove converts speech into haptic feedback replicating a hand braille. This helps a deaf-blind person perceive information without the need for a translator.

This project was supervised by Prof. Ellen Yi-Luen Do and co-supervised by Dr. Nimesha Ranasinghe at the Keio-NUS CUTE (Connective Ubiquitous Technology for Embodiments) Center at the National University of Singapore
